Keiser University Loans

Keiser University participates in the federal student loan program which allows students and their parents to borrow money to help meet their educational costs. Educational loans MUST BE PAID BACK with interest. Repayment begins 6 months after a student graduates or is no longer enrolled at least half time.

The William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program

Direct Loans are low-interest loans and the lender/servicer is the U.S. Department of Education (the Department). The William D Ford Direct Loan Program offers the Direct Loans listed below:

Subsidized Direct Loan are loans for undergraduate students with financial need. Interest is not charged during in-school, deferment, and grace periods. The interest rate on Federal Direct Subsidized loans borrowed between July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023 is 4.99%. If a student qualifies, the maximum amount of a Subsidized Stafford Loan is $3,500 for first-year students, $4,500 for second-year students and $5,500 for third-year and fourth-year students.

Unsubsidized Direct Loans are loans for both undergraduate and graduate students that are not based on financial need. Interest is charged during in-school, deferment, and grace periods. The interest rate on Federal Direct Unsubsidized loans borrowed by undergraduate students between July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023 is 4.99% for graduate/professional students is 6.54%. Interest is charged on this loan from the time the loan is disbursed until it is paid in full.

If allowed to accumulate, the interest will be added to the principal amount of the loan and increase the amount to be repaid. If a student qualifies, the maximum amount of an Unsubsidized Stafford Loan is $6,000 for first and second year students, $7,500 for third and fourth year students, $20,500 for graduate students. Award amounts are dependent upon a student’s dependency status on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

Federal Direct PLUS Loan are low interest loans available to parents of dependent undergraduate students and graduate and professional students. It is an affordable, low-interest loan designed to help students and parents pay for a college education.

Keiser University West Palm Beach Dorms

Keiser University – Latin American Campus offers two Residence Halls on campus and is committed to providing students with a residential experience that enhances and extends the educational and mission of the University.

Residence halls are specifically for those students who reside in the dorms. Therefore, persons who do not reside in the dorms should not enter; otherwise, they will be fined and required to meet with the Director of Residence Life.

The dormitories are presided over by a Director of Residence Life. The Director of Residence Life, assisted by a staff of student Resident Assistants (RA’s), is responsible for overseeing the life of the hall, fostering a good living environment, addressing the needs of the residents and maintaining order and enforcing rules. Each semester the Director of Residence Life will hold a minimum of two mandatory meetings for all the dormitory residents.

Failure to attend these meetings will result in a fine of $25.00. Additionally, there will be a fine of $5.00 for students who arrive late to these meetings. The purpose of a mandatory meeting is for the Director of Residence Life and the Resident Assistants to communicate certain rules, regulations and other important information verbally to all the dormitory residents.
